Usability reviews
Why do we need a usability review?
A usability review is an assessment that is made of your web site and/or web application that determines how easy it is to use.
The review looks at whether the site or application:
- conforms to formal standards
- conforms to conventions
- is clear and unambiguous
- provides logical flows and pathways
- is predictable - what happens is what would be expected
- provides feedback for long running or multi-step operations
- is easy to read
- highlights the important things and lets the less important recede
A review will identify and filter out obvious usability issues and potential improvements. The recommended changes from the review should be applied before conducting usability testing to ensure testing does not get held up on the basic issues.
To fully identify usability issues, usability testing is required. Until "real" customers use the site or application you will not really know whether or not you have some significant usability issues.
It's an independent review
Web Success will not undertake the work to correct any usability issues that are identified in the review. The review is our objective assessment - it's not designed to bring us more work. It is an independent review.
